Stuck in Orlando - Pandemic

April 24, 2020 Blog

We have been staying at Orlando RV Resort in Clermont, Florida. It is a Thousand Trails (TT) campgound of which we are a member. We will be here for the entire month due to the Covid-19 virus. We were only going to be here for 2 weeks, but things changed. Actually, we were very lucky to have arrived here on March 31 because only a couple days later TT put out an announcement that they would no longer allow anyone to enter their campgrounds anywhere in the US with an RV. We were already settled in to a nice site.

We had only reserved 2 weeks which is at no cost with our membership. TT was gracious enough to allow us to stay the entire month at no additional fee due to the "stay-in-place" order by the government.

We feel blessed that we were at this campground because we had just left Clermont RV and Golf Resort in Clermont, FL. That park is part of TT but is an Encore park. Those that got "stuck" there, would have to pay for the additional weeks.

Currently, we plan to move to The Oaks at Point South in Yemessee, SC which is a TT park as well on May 1. We will see what happens.
